This is my script for the start of a zombie film called The E Virus

INT. UNDERGROUND - NIGHT

Opening shot of an empty London underground station with bits of paper all over the floor and deep red blood stains over the ticket barriers, in shot there will also be radioactive posters saying evacuate on them

INT. LONDON EYE - NIGHT
shot of London eye completely still and no sound around except for a car horn repeatedly going on and off it will then focus in onto one of the pods in which you can see blood stains on the capsule and two dead body's against the glass slowly slide of the glass as deep red blood smears deeper across the window of the capsule

INT. UNDERGROUND - NIGHT
shot of in the underground its self in shot will be a overturned train with light flickering on and off and when the lights flicker you can see paper coming across the platform and you also see its the Piccadilly Line. out of nowhere a MAN with ripped clothes and blood all over his face appears crawling from the doors of the wrecked train talking to him self.

MAN
Where...where am i?
when the lights flicker again you see something moving from inside the train, the man doesn't see this and tries to get up and all of sudden the lights filly go out.
MAN
who's that? whats that
on my foot...
The lights flicker on and stay on and you see a ZOMBIE like creature standing behind him with its long gruesome arms around the mans leg.
MAN
what the hell! get off
arghhhhhhhhhh
The lights flicker off and when they come on again you see the man screaming as his legs are ripped of and blood flys everywhere. the lights go off and come on after the screaming stops and the man and zombie are missing. Footsteps are heard near by and the camera slowly turns to a blood covered floor and in the background the zombie is nearing the camera
ZOMBIE
errrrrrrrrrrr
the zombie is eating the man its killed and gets up and runs towards the camera and eats it as if someone is actually the camera, blood smears the camera and it falls to a shot of a newspaper reading The E Virus is in London!

this is a picture of my favourtie doodle. I do this doodle whenever im bored or just dont really know where to start i feel it gets my mind stimulated and when i look into the doodle i see that im starting of quite small as if im lost or stuck or cant find my way out untill eventually to the end its more open and free as if i have found what im looking for. This is something i have used often when stuck with university work, college work and even school work and just before starting the visual diary in the first semester i did this as i didnt know where to begin untill 30 double sided pages later i finished it! so i thought it would be good to have as my last post before my main piece!

colour in animation

I want to discuss colour in animation in this blog especially animation for children. This is a picture of sully and mike from monsters inc. In the picture you see the two monsters smiling and by the looks of it having a good time. When i hear the word monster i generally think of something evil and something that kids especially would be scared of, but this film mocks this in a childish way and i think the colour best depicts how it removes the word monster from been scary and makes it kind of fun. The colours used are bright and theres a lot of different colours used, young people espeically love it when there is a lot of different colours been used. If this film was meant to scare children i feel the colour used would be darker although when you see the 'evil' character in the film his colours are a lot darker and scarier compared to the likes of mike and sully

zombie ryan

This is a what one of the zombies from the artistic director script im going to write may look like so heres a little story on the zombie Ryan. Before the virus broke Ryan was a family man who lived a ordinary life except for he was having an affair at the time with another women. Unlunckily for Ryan he didnt no anything about the virus and when he went to his lovers house she was a zombie and attacked him vicsiously. Over two days Ryan slowly started to become a zombie from his infection. His life had changed for good now his diet cosisted of human meat and his hobbies instead of playing football where now chasing humans down and causing havoc to the world.

smoking is bad

this is a picture i took for my script i wrote in the script writing part of the course. I took this picture as i wanted to get an idea of what the shots could look like if i was to film this piece, the script its self is about a new memeber of staff going to work in a warehouse and overcoming new challenges there (the piece its self a comedy) throughout there is a camera man captruing everything that happens in is time there. As its a comedy i took this shot as it shows the camera man has 'forgotten' that the reflection from the glass will show him in shot as he isnt the brightest and i could add some comedy in by having the cameraman wearing some kind of stupid colthing. The shot itself is susposed to show the new starter about to enter the workplace and as you can see the new started is a smoker.

its a red thing

colour is so important and american beauty is one film that uses this factor to the max. In the film the colour red is seen in every shot, why? Why though maybe because the colour red is also the colour of a rose or a love heart and the film is about love in many ways. Or maybe its because red is the sign of danger and whats happening is very dangerous and shouldnt be happening. this brings me on to the fact that each colour can have many different meanings but in my opinion you can read it in your own way and no matter what you see it if you feel its right to the meaning it is right!

ET all from lowdown

this is a shot from the famous film ET now camera positioning is all important to a film, if filmed from high up looking down you know the person its filming lowdown is vunerable where as the opposite way would mean there in a position of power. I have picked ET and this picture inparticular because the film is filmed all from the height of a child which makes you become a child again and seeing the world as someone who's opinion may not matter as much . i feel ET been an alien of the same height is what makes the film what it is as the child can relate a lot to him and it makes it less threatening than aliens in other films which are usually a lot bigger.

what if he...

Messi arguably the best player in the world, what if a zombie attack started and although the most important people in the world were kept secure what would happen to messi. Would you save a fantastic entertainer or would you leave him to fend for him self against the crazed zombies? Maybe Messi's pace would help him escape the zombies and his fitness could keep him running but a surprise attack by the vile creatures would this mean the world would lose one of the best entertainers it has seen?

edawrd drawn hands

drawing a character for a film, a show or anything in general seems fun this is a picture of Tim Burton's Edward scissor hands which is quite a good drawing of the character. when drawing it doesn't matter to me who else can read it as long as i understand my drawing. I may have different ways of showing certain things in a character such as emotion, as long a i can read this image later on and understand its value i can then start a script and bring that emotion out in actions as well as words. To me this image shows a skinny scared man with very weird long fingers and it doesn't like this character is clean at all, where as in the film he has scissors for hands and is a machine not a human but from this i wouldn't be able to tell that where as for Tim Burton he probably can.

scriptwriting arrrrrrrr

a script is a story with more than just dialogue it tells you where and when its happening and whats going on while it happens. I don't mind script writing, the hardest bit is starting and keeping the story on track! i like to track my ideas down on paper and mix them around like a jigsaw and then piece them together and then go on with some dialogue in between. i feel scriptwriting is something anybody in the media should be able to learn as it can help with a range of things, it has helped me to be able to tell a story in a better way than before i would lose track of where i was going !

storyboarding where do ya start

storyboarding is something i do struggle at! where to start with it. Well obviously the first scene but then again if i have an idea for a particular scene i like to have it done and dusted before i forget. when i look at storyboards i don't get too much an idea of what the program or show will be like but i get an idea of the shots to be used and that then gives me ideas of what props i could have in the background to make the scene exciting and interesting. i find pictures taken by a camera more useful than drawing but with the drawing i can put the props in pencil and see what it looks like from there.

zombieland is in your face!

this DVD cover is a lot different to the zombie film 28 days later as its more obvious and in your face with what its telling you, for a start you have 4 characters at the bottom of the cover which means to me they must be the main characters. The title itself gives away what the film will have in it as in ZOMBIEland. Each of the characters has a weapon which means there must be a reason they need them. in the background you see a rollercoaster that seems to be on fire which again shows the destruction value in zombie films. The clothes they wear can give clues too with the character on the left wearing a cowboy style hat and a leather jacket could mean he would be a good guy to be around in a situation that there in !

zombies in a screenshot!

this is a screenshot from the zombiefilm zombieland, im looking into this picture as it shows aspects of props and also shows what should be in view of the camera when the shots are taken. you can see three zombies fairly close to the screen and the detail on there raggy clothes and zombie like features they posses. there is also dead body on the floor if its a zombie or not it doesnt matter as it shows horror is a foot. in the back ground there is more zombies running which shows that the zombies are overpowering the humans left, all over the floor there is what looks to be bits of paper and rubbish flying around as if the world has given up on its morals of keeping the world clean. the last but most important bit for me is the smashed car, in every zombie film i have watched there usually is smashed cars which shows destruction of the world around everyone.

28 days later

one of my favourite zombie films of all time. but I'm going to focus on this picture, i believe this is the DVD cover and the cinema poster and from this one picture i can find a lot from it, first of all the title is directly in the middle and just below two eyes and above a silhouette of a man. when you put these all together as one it looks like an angry person. The person having dark red skin which is the colour of the whole thing but could be the angry person covered in blood. On this you can also see the silhouetted man near big Ben which immediately tells you that this is London and by the man been by himself in London it immediately tells you something isn't right.

a television studio something i will have to learn the ins and outs of through uni. in this picture it shows how lighting is hugely important and brings colour out in the set. the two cameras are in pure darkness here as there catching all the important information. in this particular set looking at the what the women is wearing she seems to be a presenter. the set is quite simple and basic so it could be quite a formal program. the props look fairly basic as well. how the seats are set up it could be a show which introduces guests.

typical brain eater

when anybody says zombie the typical reaction is slow, brainless and blood thirsty creatures and also presume they will look like this picture. there is usually very red blood around there mouths to show they have been eating humans, ripped and blood covered clothes are used quite often to show there personal appearance doesn't quite matter anymore to them. the eyes of zombie are brought out more by giving them pale skin with darker skin around the eyes. the idea of the zombie is to scare people and usually arises because of some kind of lethal virus. recently in zombie films though as well as games the zombies seem to be faster and have more sense about what they do, in all the zombie will always be something that scares people in films but could this ever happen for real?

the dream!

a long time ago gladiators used to fight each over as well as lions and chariots, they did this to entertain an audience a crowd you could say who would chant and cheer in a coliseum or a stadium like arena. This picture from fifa 10 to me shows how the entertainment industry has kept its sporting entertainment the same as the gladiator days, you see how the stadium surrounds the main area and all the crowd are above the action. In this picture you see how light is used to create game shadow on the players and how the light creates an atmosphere which makes any young persons footballing dream come alive

a day in the life of cocoa

cocoa was a dog who liked to go to the park as you can see in the picture she was always the on who felt she owned the park and was the dog on the park who ruled what went on. one day though a big scary dog came to the park and was stood in cocoas spot she wasn't too happy and tried to bark away the big dog but he was having none of it, cocoa tried to sneak behind the big dog but this didn't work. cocoa looked upset and walked away the big dog thought he had won until she came back with all the dogs on the park and they all barked together and scared the big dog away! cocoa was victorious and remained on her peak until her owner put her lead back on and she thought to her self humans will never understand

resident evil 4

one of my favourtie games of all time, the resident evil series is all about one hero saving the world by killing zombies and zombie like creatures, when you look into the image you see that there is lots of characters wearing black and one in the middle which is in a different colour, this is a function used in video games like this a lot, it usually means its a boss character or it will be harder to kill this character. this picture also has the golden triangle effect around the main bad guy in the middle which shows this most be important to focus on.

London Underground

a lot of people believe this map shows post modernism but not to me it doesn't, i just believe it is a well thought out map and made easy to read for people who wouldn't be too sure about the underground like tourists. you could though break this down into different pieces and make it jigsaw like. The different colours help to bring life into the map and help to understand the different places and lines.
